The Hobbit A Truly Unexpected Journey (Review)

I've finally seen the movie last week. It was as expected awesome, the story however was truly 'unexpected'. I would have thought Peter Jackson would stay more loyal to The Hobbit but what I think happened was he thought this series of movies would be the last of Tolkien's work to ever be filmed, so he worked a lot of little stories from The Silmarillion into the plot of The Hobbit. I liked it.

The Hobbit Update: Production

This is a story of how  a Baggins had an adventure...

That is how The Hobbit begins... Well it's not literally the first thing
in the book but it's on the second page and I think this way it has a more dramatic way to start things.

The first thing I thought was some events are probably going to be highlighted more than they were in the book, such as the troll scene and definitely Rivendell parts. They barely make up a chapter in the book but judging by the trailers, we will see more of Elrond than the six pages mentioned in the book.

According to TheOneRing.Net, director Peter Jackson said "We expended out the universe a lot more so that we weren't just staying with Bilbo and the Dwarves on their journey, as the book pretty much does. We started to expand some of what's happening to Gandalf outside of that journey."

That is great news, 'cause I think we will see much more of Gandalf's and Radagast's interaction than the book mentions.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)

This Christmas will be an even more special one than the others. The Lord of the Rings fans are going wild because the 'prequel' The Hobbit is finally hitting the big screen. Judging by the trailers, this is going to be one goose bump inducing experience. As one of the people who was introduced (of course by my brother) to the Middle Earth with The Hobbit, I am extra excited. But I must admit I forgot about the details of the book as I read it when I was 11, almost 12 years ago. I am looking forward to change that in the following 6 days because only a week later, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is here for our consideration. I have been in this strange mood to watch the trilogy again for the last couple of weeks, I even started wearing my Evenstar pendant unaware of the actual release date. I guess my body is more aware of my Elvish side than my brain...
